New Reports Across 21 States Show Clean Energy Driving Manufacturing Investment, Workforce Growth, and Steady Tax  Revenues

February 26, 2026 – Chambers for Innovation and Clean Energy (CICE) has released its annual Clean Energy Jobs & Economic Impact Report series, providing a data-driven snapshot of how clean energy is driving economic growth in states across the country. These reports document a surging clean energy economy, with billions of dollars in new manufacturing investment, sustained job growth since 2020, and unprecedented demand for reliable, domestically produced energy, transforming regional economies.

This year's reports make clear that clean energy is an economic development and energy security story. Building on last year's momentum, CICE has expanded its reporting from 17 to 22 key energy states, reflecting growing interest from chambers of commerce and economic development organizations eager to quantify and communicate clean energy's impact in their communities.

"Clean energy is one of the most powerful economic development tools available today," said Ryan Evans, executive director of CICE. "From billion-dollar battery factories in Alabama to wind projects in Wisconsin to grid storage in Texas, these reports show clean energy attracting major capital investment, creating high-quality jobs, and strengthening the energy infrastructure needed to support business growth. The business case for clean energy is clear."

Key Findings:

  • Clean energy employs more than 3.5 million Americans

  • A historic wave of clean energy manufacturing investment is landing in communities across the country, with new solar, battery, EV, and grid infrastructure factories bringing billions in private capital and thousands of jobs to states
