Title: Local Partnerships Liaison (Multiple Roles: Arkansas, Indiana, Kansas, or Nebraska)

Position Overview
Chambers for Innovation and Clean Energy (CICE) seeks a part-time Local Partnerships Liaison to support a newly launched initiative advancing utility-scale solar and wind projects as drivers of economic growth, particularly in rural communities. This role is designed for a relationship-oriented, on-the-ground strategist who can build durable relationships with chambers of commerce, economic development organizations, and local business leaders, and help elevate the economic case for clean energy development. There are four distinct Contractor opportunities in Arkansas, Indiana, Kansas, and Nebraska.
The Contractor will support CICE’s Energizing Economies initiative to promote utility-scale solar and wind energy projects as drivers of economic growth, particularly in rural communities. The role focuses on engaging chamber and economic development leaders, fostering collaboration, and promoting the economic benefits of clean energy projects.
This is a part-time contract position. The contract is for an initial period of six months, with the possibility of an extension. The Contractor will work closely with the Director of Local Engagement and additional staff, including CICE’s Executive Director.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Engagement:
Collaborate with CICE’s Director of Local Engagement and other staff to develop and implement targeted engagement strategies in their state.
Outreach to Chambers of Commerce:
Build and maintain relationships with chambers of commerce, economic development organizations, local business owners, and other stakeholders throughout their state.
Facilitate discussions and deliver presentations to chamber leaders, economic development professionals, and local businesses, emphasizing the economic, business, energy security, and grid reliability benefits of utility-scale wind and solar.
Assist in the creation and distribution of tailored informational materials to chambers, including one-pagers, fact sheets, and digital content.
Organize and participate in meetings, webinars, and workshops to promote CICE’s priorities, positions, and resources to their state chambers and economic development stakeholders.
Be available, within reason, to speak with chamber of commerce executives in other states to consult on effective engagement with clean energy projects.
Tracking & Reporting:
Monitor outreach activities, gather feedback, and report progress and outcomes to CICE, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines.
Deliverables:
Brief monthly report detailing outreach activities, key interactions, and progress toward engagement goals.
Direct engagement with a goal of six chambers of commerce within the contract period.
Identification of five or more supportive local businesses
Development of informational materials or resources tailored for their state chambers and economic development organizations.
Regular updates to CICE staff on emerging opportunities and challenges in their state’s clean energy landscape, including identifying key opposition groups and their strategies.
Details
This is a flexible contract position. The scope of work and monthly hours will be determined based on the selected contractor's experience, availability, and areas of expertise, with an anticipated range of approximately 10-40 hours per month. The ideal candidate has experience working with chambers of commerce, economic development, and/or community relations.
Occasional travel within the assigned state may be needed to attend meetings or events.
