Susan Munroe rejoined CICE as Director of National Engagement in 2025. In her role, Susan leads CICE’s team of Regional Directors as they expand engagement with chambers of commerce and economic development organizations throughout the country to elevate the business voice for clean energy.

With more than 14 years of experience in building support for a clean energy economy at the local, state and federal levels, Susan is a recognized expert in cultivating bipartisan support for renewable energy project development with key stakeholders. In her prior positions, she has led legislative and strategic stakeholder engagement for an offshore wind developer; served as CICE’s Deputy Director and Director of Economic Development; and was chamber of commerce president for seven years in rural Ohio, home to the largest wind farm in the state.  

Susan received her master’s degree in corporate communications at Fairleigh Dickinson University and her bachelor’s degree in communications at University of North Carolina- Greensboro. She and her husband live in Southport, NC with their Australian Labradoodle, Shelby.
