CICE Welcomes New Staff to Strengthen Engagement and Policy Work
As Chambers for Innovation and Clean Energy (CICE) continues to grow our impact and reach, we’re excited to welcome three experienced and accomplished professionals to our team, bringing a wealth of experience in chamber leadership, public policy, and community engagement.
Susan Munroe – Director of National Engagement
CICE is thrilled to welcome back Susan Munroe to CICE as our new Director of National Engagement. In this role, Susan will lead our team of Regional Directors, expanding CICE’s work with chambers of commerce and economic development organizations across the country and elevating the business voice for clean energy.
Susan previously served as CICE’s Deputy Director and Director of Economic Development before taking on a leadership role in legislative and strategic stakeholder engagement for an offshore wind developer. She previously served for seven years as president of a rural Ohio chamber of commerce, home to the largest wind farm in the state.
With over 14 years of experience in advancing the clean energy economy at the local, state, and federal levels, Susan is a recognized expert in building bipartisan support for renewable energy project development with chambers, business leaders, and community stakeholders.
Colin Diaz – Western Regional Director
We’re also proud to welcome Colin Diaz to the team as our new Western Regional Director, where he will lead engagement efforts with chambers and economic development organizations across the Western United States, including in Arizona, Nevada, and Utah.
Colin brings more than 15 years of chamber leadership experience and a strong track record in public policy, strategic partnerships, and economic development. He previously served as President & CEO of multiple chambers of commerce, helping guide organizations through strategic transformations and sustainable growth initiatives.
Colin is an Accredited Chamber Executive (ACE) through the Western Association of Chamber Executives (WACE), has earned his IOM designation from the U.S. Chamber’s Institute of Organizational Management (IOM), holds a Certificate in Workforce Development Fundamentals from ACCE, and completed the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Business Leads Fellowship Program.
Evan Kalember – Policy & Government Affairs Manager
To further strengthen our policy capabilities, Evan Kalember joins CICE as our new Policy & Government Affairs Manager. Evan will support education and engagement efforts around clean energy policy, helping chambers and economic development leaders understand how clean energy can drive economic growth and resilience.
Evan previously worked for the Indiana State Budget Agency for five years, where he worked as a Budget Analyst and Assistant Director. His portfolio included fiscal and legislative analysis, managing the State’s capital budget, and working with the State Budget Committee. Evan also brings a strong commitment to inclusive leadership, having served as Treasurer for Stonewall Sports – Indianapolis, an LGBTQ+ recreational sports league.
As we scale our work to support chambers and economic development leaders across the country, we’re energized by the talent, leadership, and experience that Susan, Colin, and Evan bring to the CICE team. Please join us in giving them a warm welcome!
